worldstainless is a not-for-profit research and development association which was founded in 1996 as the International Stainless Steel Forum.
Its primary roles are to undertake stainless steel industry beneficial tasks that are better coordinated centrally in the fields of

worldstainless has six working committees:

The members of the world stainless association are producers of stainless steel (integrated mills and rerollers) and stainless steel development associations.
The association and its work are governed by the worldstainless Board, which meets twice a year. Elected by the members, the Board is composed of up to 18 members. The Board elects the Executive Committee which consists of the worldstainless Chairman, four Vice Chairmen, the Treasurer and the Secretary-General and four other members. The Executive Committee meets one to two times a year.

The aim of competition law is to preserve competition by prohibiting certain agreements between undertakings, decisions by associations of undertakings and concerted practices which may affect trade and which have as their object or effect the prevention, restriction or distortion of competition. Competition law thus prohibits all agreements and concerted practices between competitors that reduce strategic uncertainty in the market (i.e. price fixing, limit or control of production, market sharing etc.).

Although worldstainless acts completely independently from the World Steel Association AISBL having its own budgets, board, etc., worldstainless is not a separate legal entity. The World Steel Association provides administrative support to worldstainless.
